Personal data we collect

Account and identity data

We may collect your name, email address, membership date, internal account identifier, whether an Apple-provided address is a private relay address, and authentication information received through Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. Guest access uses a hashed installation identifier. We store refresh tokens in hashed form and protect any Apple authorization credential retained for account revocation.

We do not receive your Apple or Google password.

Wardrobe, style, and user content

Depending on the features you use, we collect:

  • clothing and accessory photos, care-label photos, names, categories, colors, materials, care details, brands, prices, currencies, seasons, status, tags, and wear counts;
  • generated outfit images, saved looks, outfit sets, fit-check photos, diary entries, wear history, and feedback;
  • style goals, preferred and avoided styles, fit and coverage preferences, life contexts, wardrobe preferences, and onboarding answers;
  • plans, occasions, calendar-event details you enter, trips, packing lists, and luggage details; and
  • recommendations, garment attributes, preference signals, and other insights inferred from your activity or generated through the Service.

Photos may contain personal information if you or another person appears in them. WearWise does not use face recognition or create biometric identifiers or face templates.

Location, weather, and settings

For weather-aware recommendations, WearWise may use your device location after you grant iOS permission, or a city you select, including its name, country, latitude, and longitude. Your saved weather city and related settings may sync to our servers. We also collect notification schedules, time zone, country, preferred currency, and coverage preferences.

Subscription and transaction data

Apple and RevenueCat provide an app user identifier, subscription product, entitlement, purchase and renewal status, expiration date, billing environment, whether renewal is expected, and transaction or receipt information needed to validate access, prevent fraud, restore purchases, and provide support. Apple processes payment details; WearWise does not receive your full payment-card number.

Shopping and retailer-link data

If you use shopping features, we may collect retailer or product URLs, product details, prices, currencies, price checks, shopping verdicts, wish-list entries, identified wardrobe gaps, recommendation results, country, and currency. Our server may retrieve publicly available content from a retailer page you submit.

Device, usage, diagnostics, and support

We may collect app version, operating system, device type, language, time zone, notification token, App Store environment, feature activity, sync state, AI usage counts, job and push-delivery status, IP address, request identifiers, server logs, security events, and sanitized crash or performance information. If you contact us, we collect your message, email address, attachments, and information you choose to provide.

03

How we collect data

We collect personal data directly from you when you create an account, add content, choose preferences, submit links, or contact us; automatically from the app and our servers when you use the Service; from Apple or Google when you sign in; from Apple and RevenueCat in connection with subscriptions; and from retailers, affiliate networks, weather providers, and AI providers when they return information requested by a feature you use.

The WearWise legal pages do not contain advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or cookies. Our website host may process ordinary request and security logs, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp, to deliver and protect the site.

04

How we use data

We use personal data to:

  • create and secure accounts and guest sessions;
  • sync, store, export, and delete your WearWise data;
  • catalog garments and care information;
  • generate and personalize outfits, images, recommendations, packing lists, and planning suggestions;
  • provide weather-aware and occasion-aware features;
  • validate subscriptions, restore purchases, and control paid access;
  • import retailer links, check products and prices, and provide shopping recommendations;
  • send notifications you request;
  • respond to support, privacy, and safety requests;
  • detect fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical failures;
  • measure reliability and improve the Service; and
  • comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.

WearWise does not use wardrobe photos or other user content to train a Brainify-owned general-purpose AI model. We do not intentionally opt in to a provider using your API content for general model training. If that practice ever changes, we will update this policy and request any consent required before the change applies.

05

AI-powered processing

Some WearWise features use third-party artificial intelligence. Before personal data is first sent to a third-party AI provider, WearWise identifies the provider, explains the data being sent and why, and requests permission. If you do not consent, do not use those AI features; account and privacy controls remain available.

Depending on the feature, data sent may include garment and care-label images, clothing reference images used to generate a look, garment descriptions and extracted attributes, closet and style context, fit and coverage preferences, weather, occasion or trip context, feedback, prompts, and technical instructions needed to return the result.

We do not intentionally send your password, sign-in token, or payment-card details to an AI provider.

Current AI providers

Google Gemini supports garment, label, styling, and related structured analysis. OpenAI API image-generation services support generated look imagery. Requests may pass through infrastructure operated for Brainify before reaching these providers.

Providers may retain limited data for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or service operation under their business terms. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy, Gemini API Terms, OpenAI Privacy Policy, and OpenAI business data commitments.

You may withdraw AI consent prospectively by stopping use of AI features and emailing wearwise@brainify.dev. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed, and features requiring that processing will no longer work.

06

08

Data retention

  • Registered accounts: Account data and user content are generally kept while the account remains active. When deletion completes, we remove them from the active WearWise database and image storage, except for limited records that law, security, fraud prevention, or dispute handling requires us to retain.
  • Guest sessions: The backend is configured to expire a guest workspace after approximately 24 hours of inactivity and remove its server-side records and stored images shortly afterward. Data stored locally on your device remains until the app clears it or you remove the app.
  • Logs and support records: We keep server, security, diagnostic, and support records only as long as reasonably needed for security, support, legal compliance, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution, after which they are deleted or de-identified.
  • Backups: Deleted data may remain in access-controlled backups until those backups are overwritten in the ordinary backup cycle, unless longer retention is legally required.
  • Subscriptions: Apple and RevenueCat retain transaction information under their own policies. We may retain limited subscription and fraud-prevention records where legally required.

We may keep aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you.

09

Your controls and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to processing; withdraw consent; receive a portable copy; appeal our response; or complain to a data-protection authority.

  • Export: Open Profile → Settings → Export my data to export account data as JSON.
  • Delete an account: Open Profile → Account → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes the registered account, synced wardrobe, plans, images, and wear history from active WearWise systems.
  • Manage permissions: Use iOS Settings to change camera, photo-library, location, and notification permissions.
  • Manage subscriptions: Use your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting your WearWise account or removing the app does not cancel an Apple subscription.
  • Make a privacy request: Email wearwise@brainify.dev. We may need to verify your identity.

Account deletion does not require contacting support. If law requires us to keep limited information, we will explain the exception that applies.

10

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encrypted network connections, scoped storage access, hashed authentication tokens, credential protection, request filtering, and access controls. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you believe your account or data has been compromised, email wearwise@brainify.dev promptly.

11

International transfers

Brainify and its providers may process personal data in Pakistan, the United States, and other countries where our providers operate. These countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections or adequacy mechanisms.

12

Children

The Service is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal data, email wearwise@brainify.dev so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

13

Third-party links

WearWise may link to retailers, Apple subscription management, or other third-party services. We do not control those services, and their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review those policies before providing information or completing a purchase.

14

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as WearWise, our providers, or the law changes. We will post the revised policy with a new last-updated date and provide additional notice when required. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will request consent where required.
